Abstract
The article a large complex of Czech Baroque sermons from the period 1618-1763. Homiletics is one of the main literary genres of that period, for the era from the 1690s to mid- 1700s becomes the leading genre of Czech literature.
The importance of the sermons is vital not only for the literature, it is also a valuable source for the history of theology, cultural history, knowledge about early modern Czech and Latin languages, about changes in social thinking and also for ethnography or folklore.
