The threat of intervention : Forms of acitivism in contemporary Russia

Abstract

A small exhibition of activism in contemporary Russia limits to the period from the end of 2011 to present day. There was a huge wave of anti-government demonstrations in 2011 and at the same time art activism started to transform into movement emphasizing citizen rights and freedoms.

However, this is in a certain way a simplifying narrative and for that reason there are different strategies presented to prevent from mythologization of one form of activism. On six posters there were presented P.
