Abstract

The publication presents new information on preschool education of two-year old children in preschool facilities. The book is divided into two parts.

The first part includes the theoretical basis of the field of early childhood education as well as the scientific knowledge of developmental psychology. A retrospective view of the institutional care of two-year old children, including a comparative view of the experience with education of early-age children in selected foreign countries, is in the book too.

Chapter called 1.3 "The present in nursery schools" presents the results of a research survey that has mapped the current statistics of two-year old children in Czech nursery schools. The second part of the publication with the subheading "From September to January" is methodical.

It describes selected aspects of the specifics of work with two-year old children specifically for each month as well as the examples of activities, chosen with respect to the possibilities of the children. The publication aims to show the issue of two-year children education from the perspective of participating subjects: nursery teachers and directors, founders, education authorities, experts, parents and, of course, children.
