Grief support group project for people with intellectual disabilities

Abstract

Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult situations in life. The way how a person deals with such a situation also depends on the intensity of support that is provided to him during the mourning process.

This article covers the topic of grief and mourning process caused by the death of a loved one from the perspective of theory and practice. It draws attention to the issue of mourning of people with intellectual disabilities, highlights the importance of supporting people with intellectual disabilities who are experiencing this difficult situation and suggests procedure how to set a supporting group.
