Working with children with different vernacular - PPP and elementary school cooperation (case study)

Abstract

Presentation of the case study documenting work with children with different vernacular (mother language). Case study concerns the work of consultant psychologist, as well as pedagogues at elementary schools and other professionals, especially in the field that deals with foreigners in Czechia.

Theoretical introduction aims to explain the issues of foreigners in Czechia and the process of adaptation on the new cultural environment (acculturation). Second part of the presentation describes specific case of one foreigner of Vietnamese origin and his gradual adaptation with the help of his family and professionals.

The aim of this study is to present procedures, results and different options, that our educational system provides.
