Activities of the Syndicate of Czechoslovak Journalists during the period of Second Republic

Abstract

The chapter is focused on the activities of the most important inter-war trade union organization of Czechoslovak journalists in the dramatic period of the so-called Second Republic. It focuses on the agenda of the organization in the given period and, above all, on how the journalists responded to the fundamental changes brought about by foreign and domestic political situation (increase of journalists' unemployment, intensification of censorship and state propaganda, increase of nationalism in the society, etc.).
