Homer without the hexameter? : Eva Tichy's search for the underlying meter and language of the Ilias

Abstract
The article reviews the project of Eva Tichy (represented in a book from the year 2010, handful of articles and on-line publications) which aims to reconstruct original form of some verses or passages of the Ilias and to distinguish between those older verses composed in the Aiolic dialect and a reconstructed pre-hexametric metre, and the younger ones, written in the Ionian and the hexameter.
