Abstract
This paper brings results of quantitative mapping study, which was exploring values, attitudes, and opinions of czech parents on key educational situations. The project aimed to find out the general public's views on raising children within the family, and to compare it with selected psychological research.
A research sample included 439 parents with one or more children. As a research method was used own questionnaire Raising children within the family.
Design was built upon the concept of educational styles by Baumrind and foreign research studies. For the analysis of the results was used descriptive statistics and Pearson's chi-squared test.
The results shows similarities with data from foreign and czech research studies and connection of educational styles with demografic variables (gender, education, age, number of children).
