Permeability of migratory barriers on watercourses for potamodromous lampreys in the Czech Republic

Abstract

In our potamodromous lampreys migratory movements are related almost exclusively to their reproduction. Due to their migratory behaviour, most objects on a waercourse higher than 20 cm are insuperable barriers for both the lamprey species.

Authors present building of bypasses or artificial spawning places located in side channels as suitable measures.
