Abstract

This article examines one of the most sophisticated forms or tourism - gastronomic tourism. Authentic experiences resulting from a visit to site where food is manufactured or a gastronomic facility, complete with tasting traditional or innovative foods or drinks, stand at the forefront of this form of leisure.

In this way food takes on greater meaning for tourists than simply satisfying basic physiological needs. It becomes a representative of cultural traditions and a veritable tourist attraction.
