Abstract
Regional demo-economical analysis based on nuts3 of former key countries of Austro-Hungarian empire: Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria. The research question addresses the issue of regional similarities.
Following indicators are examined: total fertility rate, life expectancy at birth, proportion of foreigners, percentage of population aged 65 and over, purchasing power parity, and population density. Typology based on cluster analysis shows the strongest similarities within a country.
Only capital cities escape this rule. Austria is more heterogeneous and divided into two macro-regions.
