Abstract
The article introduces Yoga and Tantra movement MISA as a new religious movement experiencing tensions and conflicts with the Romanian society, where it originated in the 1980s. The most visible result of these conflicts is the current imprisonment of its founder, Gregorian Bivolaru.
A short history of these conflicts and doctrinal basis of the movement are also presented in the text. The author suggests that the conflicts may be - at last to some extent - caused by a series of misunderstandings.
