Surgical treatment of persistent macrocheilia in patient with granulomatous cheilitis

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen |
2017

Abstract

The authors present a case report of a patient with advanced granulomatous cheilitis lasting for several years. Macrocheilia of the lower lip was the main manifestation of the disease.

The primary conservative therapy with intralesional corticosteroids had only minimal effect on regression of lip swelling and the patient was subsequently successfully treated with reduction cheiloplasty. Current options for the treatment of this uncommon disease are discussed.
