Abstract

The study aim was to examine whether the decrease in the level of single cognitive functions in Czech schizophrenia patients is random, independent, or explained by profiles that characterize the differences in patients cognitive performance and explain the relationship between cognitive clusters and demographic, clinical and quality of life parameters. Six cognitive domains were assessed with neuropsychological battery in a sample of subjects with first-episode schizophrenia spectrum disorders and matching healthy counterparts.

Cluster analysis found three clusters of distribution of cognitive profiles in the clinical population. Moreover, between domain correlations showed group specific differences.

Although the results from a small clinical sample are preliminary, our results are similar to those previously reported in the literature.
