Abstract

The article is devoted to practical work of Karel Engliš (1880-1961) in monetary policy, especially his attempt to create a new Czechoslovak currency in 1918. It also analyzes theoretical views of known Czech economist Karel Engliš on the role of the central bank in the money and foreign exchange markets and its position in the economy
