Abstract
During the years 2015 and 2016, 1.4 million immigrants from the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa came to Europe by crossing the Mediterranean Sea. Only Syria was more than 700,000 immigrants.
Media and politicians talk about the refugee crisis. But relatively little is said about the causes of this migration and what preceded war conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan.
