This present study will examine the conception of the divine and the idea of the "One", in relation to the religious views of Late Antiquity. In particular, the purpose is to analyze the appearing of monotheistic elements in philosophy and individual thought, and to establish whether the new cults collide with the "old" religious system, or they have reason for existing all at once, without any opposition.

In fact, this historical moment is a sort of transition period. The classic pantheon of gods, during Late Antiquity, does not disappear, but it incorporates in itself some elements, which until that moment were foreign to the traditions and religious festivals already in existence.

It is to consider that later antiquity represents a multifaceted moment, and religion adapts very well to these changes, but not without consequences.
