Cancer: The Price for Longevity

Abstract

Incidence of cancer is increasing worldwide, namely in developed countries. This trend seems to be associated with ageing of population, connected with reduction of activity of gene repair machinery and accumulation of mutations in cells.

From this point of view, we can expect the growth of cancer incidence as price for longevity.
