Abstract
This paper will deal with the impact of the Border Guards' stay on the cultural and historical environment of the town of Nové Hrady in South Bohemia. In context with the theme of the conference, the author will devote to the holidays and festivities that took place with the participation of the Border Guard Service and influence the life of the whole city near the Austrian border.
From the available sources (mainly from the chronicles of the Border Guard Service), it will be reconstructed both the current and the ceremonial year of the Border Guard Service and its transformation during the years 1950-1989 (e.g. the inclusion of new holidays, etc.).
