Abstract
The article History of Czech-German relations and its future deals with the historical development of relations between Czechs and Germans from the settlement of border regions in the Middle Ages and the first contacts between these two ethnicities. It mentions the complex development of the formation of both nations in the 18th and 19th centuries and the perception of this phenomenon by historians of the time.
In the next part it deals with the foundation of the Czechoslovak Republic and the effect of this event on the formation of mutual relations between the two nations in this state unit. The following part of the article deals with the events that have accompanied the greatest misfortune in the mutual relations between these two nations.
The last part deals with the development of relationships in the decades following after this event and the prospects for the future.
