Abstract
In the Czech republic there is currently a discussion on the status of the profession of social work, precisely in relation to the key role of social work in the field of protection of human dignity and social rights of clients of social workers, including seniors. The analysis of the existing legislation in this area is presented.
The chapter presents the area of social work in a public administration as a tool of support and assistance to the elderly.
