Abstract
On 22 May 2017 a new amendment of Act. No. 187/2006 Coll., on Sickness Insurance, came into force establishing, inter alia, a new institute of paternal post-natal care benefit, so called paternal benefit.
It is a benefit for which, already within the course of the next year, fathers of newly born children would be entitled to within 6-week period after their child is born or foster parents of children under seven years of age taken into the care.
