Purposefulness, purposelessness, and a paradox of fluency

Abstract

The study explores the introduction of purposelessness into reception of the work of art from the perspective of contemporary notions of neuroaesthetics, as for perceptive fluency and processing fluency. It demonstrates that a recognition of purposelessness on the backround of purposefulness of the work of art does not necessary disrupt perceptual fluency, on the contrary it istimulates simultaneous experience on more strata of the aesthetic experience.
