Abstract
The aim of this book is a thorough, detailed exploration of the cardinal principles of the French variation of the theatre of European Romanticism, based upon deep reflection of life and work of Gerard de Nerval. Author analysis his writing for theatre and about theatre, complemented by the analysis of his theoretical ideas about art and artistic creation in general.
The issues considered include inspiration by other cultures, the influence of translation, transformations of modern stage practice, the specifics of theatre practice in Romanticism, program manifests of Romanticism, modern dramaturgy.
