Assisting bodies under the Freedom of Information Act

Abstract

The Article aims to analyze briefly the relation between decision-making and assisting bodies in the Czech organizational administrative law. In connection with the analysis, the author summarizes the role of assisting bodies in the application of the Act No. 106/1999 Coll., on the Freedom of Information.

First, the author introduces major issues. Subsequently, he deals with legislation concerning assisting bodies in the area of constitutional bodies, territorial selfgovernment units and executors.

Finally, he generalizes his findings regarding functional and institutional relations between assisting body and decision- -making body. He also sums up the consequences arising from the Freedom of Information Act for these relations and expresses his opinion on the suitability of the amendment of the Act
