Information Literacy for Elderly People: Bridging the Digital Gap

Abstract

The aim of this lecture is to present the results of the qualitative research which is focused on the use of information technologies by senior citizens in the Czech Republic. These findings describe first part of more extensive research.

The results offer a unique insight into the situation which is terminologically described as a secondary digital divide. Research is a part of a doctoral thesis oriented to elderly people and their information literacy skills.

The outcomes of the semi-structured interviews will be presented within this doctoral paper.
