The paper deals with a specific cultural tradition of Mongolians in Ordos (Inner Mongolia, China) concerning the beliefs and use of keyimori (wind horse, rlung rta). It opens with a terminological discussion of meaning and origin of the word keyimori and continues with description of multifarious material representations of this concept: keyimori altars in front of houses, imagery of block-printed prayer flags and modern keyimori prints.

The following part analyses collected versions of the Mongolian ritual texts recited during the related offerings. Texts are given in Mongolian script and followed by comparative notes and conclusions about the meaning of keyimori for Mongolian herders.

The article is closed by some observations about recent changes in the keyimori traditions among modern urban Mongolians.
