The aim of the book is to introduce the history of the town of Chrudim under the reign of Charles IV and his son Wenceslas IV. It consists of four chapters "The Town of Chrudim in the Times of Charles IV.

Material Culture in the 14th Century" (Jan Musil), "Deeds and Charters Issued by Charles IV to the Royal Dowry Town of Chrudim" (David Richter), "Tax System of Bohemian Towns during the Reign of the House of Luxembourg" (Jan Vojtíšek) and the essential part of the publication, i. e. critical edition of two tax registers of the town of Chrudim from the years 1399-1402 (Jan Vojtíšek).
