Abstract

Presentation focused on the poetics of space in a dead city where the dead city is an expression of a national trauma. It draws on the theory of monuments as developed by Henri Lefebvre and the concept of spatial justice as proposed by Edward W.

Soja. Stressed in the presentation were the most common signs of any poetics of death (ephemerality and the contrast of rich history against the devastating present state) seen through socio-spatial dialectic.
