Abstract
Medical students receive a revised national textbook of ophthalmology after ten years since the first edition. Ophthalmology, like other medical disciplines, is undergoing rapid development and therefore the authors added the text of the new knowledge, which in the first edition have not been (e.g., modern practices in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration and laser surgery of the lens).
Authors traditionally represents all the eye clinics in the Czech republic and made maximum effort to book without a significant extension contained everything essential, including connection with other areas of medicine. Modern processing with a rich visual documentation facilitate a better understanding of the text and serves students not only for the exam in ophthalmology, but also for practice.
