Opinions of citizens of the Czech republic on selected aspects of the activites of general practitioners - 2016
Abstract
Resources. The Czech Medical Society of JEP - the Society of General Practice periodically monitors citizens' opinions on selected aspects of general practitioners' activities.
This publication follows previous outputs of the research carried out in the years 2014 and 2015. Results.
In the representative sociologic research,. 1841 citizens were interviewed The research results are representative for the Czech Republic citizens with respect to a gender, age and region. The citizens are in vast majority satisfied with GPs' care and time spent on their examination, from which 7,2 % have a negative opinion.
They are also satisfied with a nurse working in a GP's surgery, from which only 5,5 % have a negative opinion. According to the Czech Republic citizens, 12,2 % of GPs do not use IT technologies within preventive therapeutic care and 86,7 % of them mentioned that GPs using IT technologies are reasonably or fully focused on patients during their examination.
Currently, 41,8 % of the Czech Republic citizens have a negative approach to the use of an e-prescription (sending via email or cell phone). Similarly, 40 % of the citizens have a negative approach to a possibility of sharing information on their health state between physicians or healthcare facilities electronically.
Majority of the Czech Republic citizens (84,7 %) supposes that a quality and access to health care is better in big towns than in smaller towns or villages and 75,1 % have a positive attitude to a financial support of physicians working in villages mainly because they find it beneficial if their GP lives in the same neighbourhood (area). A quality of care provided in catchment hospitals is assessed by the citizens as much better in comparison with the past time.
