Hymenoptera venom allergy, especially among adults, is one of the most common causes of anaphylaxis. Now we have a wide spectrum of diagnostic tools to confirm it.
However, even with the use of these tests, cross-reactivity between venoms, especially in case of unclear clinical history, often makes it difficult to determine the correct diagnosis. The diagnostics of Hymenoptera venom allergy is still a challenge, despite all the advances.
This article aims to summarize the latest findings on the diagnostic possibilities of bee and wasp venom allergy. The greatest attention is focused on molecular diagnostics, which has shown the greatest development in recent years.
