Abstract

The article deals with the development of mental and graphomotor functions of children of pre-school age. The development of drawing skills is reflected in a change in the way the drawing is done, in the increase of details and the advantages of their display, and finally in the improvement of the proportions of the whole displayed object.

The drawing of a house is not used for various diagnostic purposes as often as character drawing, but it can be beneficial precisely because it is graphically different. Its basis is more precise geometric shapes.

The aim of the study was to compare the development of human figure drawing and house drawings and to create a simple screening method for house drawing, which could be a useful addition to the character draw test. The results confirmed the diagnostic quality of both methods.
