Abstract
Jómsvíkinga saga, being an early one and not yet easily fitting into any category of the saga genres, can help us to understanding the development of these genres. To that purpose, also particular stylistic details as body descriptions can contribute as they play a specific role in each literary genre and are used according to the genre's own goals.
