Abstract

Geography of food - studying food as geographical and societal phenomenon - presents a number of opportunities to use food as a teaching aid within the geography class. For example, the names of various food products could be used to practice orienting on a map or to deepen knowledge of food facts in specific regions.

Understanding the risks associated with food pathways and the advantages of local production contribute to a better environmental education.
