This review summarises the topic of cognitive functions in patients with low-grade gliomas. Gliomas and their treatment have a negative effect on the cognitive functions of these patients.
Cognitive functions in patients with low-grade glioma influence also the quality of their life which correlates with life expectancy. This is a relatively new area of research, but the increasing number of published articles shows its relevance.
The aim of this review is to introduce and emphasise this topic and contribute to the development of the quality of professional care for patients with low-grade gliomas.
