Abstract
Cartographic monuments are among the most endangered cartographic heritage. The first step to their protection and rescue is their description and accessibility.
The digitization of map collections is now inherent in memory institutions. It also allows specialist feedback.
The database of digitized map collections is open to all map funds and serves primarily administrators, but also researchers and scientists. It was created in 2017 as one of the initiatives of the Open Platform for Cartographic Documents at the UNESCO National Commission.
