The study deals with the question of Czech expressionism in poetry. The Czech expressionist poetry stands under the influence of the poetry of the Austrian poet Georg Trakl, whose work was translated to Czech as first from Bohuslav Reynek, also a poet.
His translation approach is very specific. Reynek reminds also translations of other German expressionists: Kasimir Edschmidt (1890-1960), Paul Scheerbart (1863-1915), (1890-1928) Georg Heym (1887-1912), Klabund (1890-1928), Teodor Däubler (1876-1934) René Schickele (1883-1940).
Also notable is the genre diversity of translated works: poetry, novels and dramatic texts. No other from these Expressionists with the exception of Georg Heym, however, already found in Czech literature resonant response.
