Abstract

The introductory chapter of the book has two pivotal parts. The first is conceived as a critical reflection on the development of the city from 1989 to the present, and as a rethinking of some opinions perceived so far almost exclusively by the optics of the post-socialist paradigm.

It seeks not only to neglect the long-term development of urban structures, but also to terminological labeling and its relevance. Concepts such as segregation, social housing or suburbia are being discussed.

The second part presents the structure of the book and the content of the individual chapters.
