The danger generated by Nazi Germany and shock caused by Munich Treaty and its consequences (Czechoslovakia lost a huge part of its territory with German-speaking inhabitants) led to many changes in political, social and cultural life of the country.

The team of authors is examining the period of the Second Republic mostly from the point of view of these social and cultural changes to focus their attention on journalists and especially media and media system.
