Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate eating habits, respectively differences in the preference of food groups to individual foods in subjects with traumatic spinal cord injury, which differed during the duration of spinal lesions. The group consisted of 36 men aged 16-61 years (n1 = 16, lesion 2 to 5 years, n2 = 20, lesion 6 years and over).

Comparing the eating habits of both groups showed significant differences in the size of consumed portions eg dairy products (p = 0.050, ES = 0.82) and meat products (p = 0.014, ES = 0.73), but also in the preference of some food groups (vegetables, fruit, dairy products, meat, sugar and sweets) to individual meals during the day.
