Abstract

The significance of physical activity on public health make evident the need for the development of global recommendations that address the links between the frequency, duration, intensity, type and total amount of physical activity needed for the prevention of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). The focus of the global recommendations on physical activity for health is primary prevention of NCDs through physical activity at population level.

Subjective evaluation of the intensity of exercise Borg's scale called Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) is used. Objective workload intensity is mostly evaluated by heart rate monitors.

On Czech market Polar products are most popular. Another field equipment - blood lactate measuring meter - is used to determine level of anaerobic metabolism mainly in the practice of top sport training and competitions.

They enable to learn lactacidemia within 15 seconds after the sampling of capillary blood. There is a wide choice of pedometers on the market.

They mostly register number of steps, total distance covered and energy expenditure. One of those products - Fitbit - is small wireless electronic system containing sensors, which can be used in evaluation of 24-h daily activities.

Fitbit tracks one's steps, distance, and calories burned. Example of fitbit application (one week physical activity) is presented in paper.
