Abstract

The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate changes in the distribution of plantar pressure in the walking and running phase of the trained runners after the long-term running load. For this purpose, five runners had two minutes of walking at a speed of 6 km / h, two minutes running at a speed of 12 km / h and two minutes of running at a speed of 15 km / h on a laboratory treadmill before and after a 29 km run at 75-80% TFmax.

The mean value of the maximum pressure in seven foot segments (medial bursitis, lateral bursitis, midline, medial forehead, lateral forehead, thumb, and other fingers) was obtained from the data recorded in 200 steps at each speed using Novel Pedar-X Pedobarographic Sides. The results revealed a reduction in plantar pressure in the area of the finger while walking at 6 km / h and at a speed of 12 km / h and 15 km / h and in the area of a thumb at a speed of 15 km / h after passing the running load.

This is probably the result of local muscle fatigue, which can contribute to leg injuries occurring in endurance runners.
