Abstract

Chronic pain is a worldwide widespread problem that can soon turn into an epidemic. Chronic pain is the cause of work incapacity in people of working age and its treatment costs millions of crowns a year.

Understanding the mechanism of the effect of chronic pain and finding a non-invasive, effective and safe solution is therefore essential. One solution that meets the criteria is laser therapy.

The aim of this study is to demonstrate the analgesic effect of high-power laser (HIL) energy as a result of photomechanical effect in human tissue.
