Shoulder protraction and its objectification

Abstract

The aim of this article is to define forward shoulder posture as viewed from number of different authors as well as to outline numerous possible objectivization methods. The data was gained by measuring the distance between two anatomical points, the cranial sternum and anterior acromion both in rested and upright posture.

Test - retest study was performed on 8 probands, time distance included. The result was a high reliability of measure (0,96-0,99) and presentation on outcomes of forward shoulder posture on musculoskeletal system and possibile relationship with certain musculoskeleten disorders.
