Abstract

The article deals with the issue crawl swimming stroke. It deals in more detail with the causes of errors in the phases of the movement cycle, respiration, body position, torso rotation, coordination and movement of the lower limbs.

The reader familiarises himself with the demonstrations of techniques without and with the errors that are most common in beginning swimmers. Individual mistakes are described in the context of imperfect mastery of basic swimming skills.

The paper presents a causal relationship between the low level of the selected basic swimming skills and the technical error. More specifically, it analyses breathing and breathing in the context of upper limb movements, the development of sensation of water with recovery movements of the upper and lower limbs, and the position of the head with the body position when inhaled and exhaled in overall coordination.
