Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2017

Abstract

Cetuximab is a very important representative of the targeted treatment in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, which is not only a medical problem due to the number of patients. In the Czech Republic, cetuximab has been administered in clinical practice for this diagnosis for over 10 years.

During this time, data from a number of clinical trials matured and follow-up analyses were performed. The new data enable us to individualize more any targeted treatment with cetuximab and to achieve better therapeutic outcomes.

This review article evaluates the position of cetuximab in the treatment of metastatic disease and on also in the neoadjuvant treatment of rectal carcinoma.
