Coordination of services for people living with dementia: Comments on (in)coherence of caring

Publication |

Abstract

Our research is a contribution to the existing exploration of coherence in social science, specifically in the field of care for people living with dementia. We try to answer questions such as: What and how holds together the life of a person whose memory ceases to serve? How is the coherence of perception and behavior of a person with dementia made in an interaction with a care assistant? How do live together people with dementia and those who care for them in one small town? What is the role of family, place, habit, animal-companion, hallucination, or available services in care coordination? ...We talk about the lives of people with dementia and try to enrich their knowledge and care practice with theoretical debate on coherence.
