The article characterizes agriculture and its various functions for society. It also mentions a social work whose primary task is to promote social change, to help people return into society, and to create a supportive environment for them to live their lives fully, and to fulfill their needs.
Combined with agriculture, social work is applied in the new concept of so-called social farming. This creates space for the integration of disadvantaged people in the form of work integration jobs, social services or educational activities in the farm environment and in the countryside.
The article also briefly describes the situation in the Czech Republic and what has been happening recently in this area.
