Expressing place in children's literature : Testing the limits of the n-gram method in contrastive linguistics

Abstrakt

This chapter focuses on the use of one of the most basic semantic categories, place, in children's literature in English and Czech. The study is data driven and the main methodological approach is taken through n-gram extraction.

Pros and cons of this method in contrastive research are also discussed.
